Biography

I was born and raised in the K-W area and graduated from the University of Waterloo with an Honours B.Sc. in Kinesiology. It was during my time in university that I developed my passion for health and fitness.
I now have 20 years of experience in the fitness industry and I have seen every system, trend and gimmick come and go and come around again. I prefer to take an educated and scientific approach when it comes to human physiology.
I use a very simple 3 step method when training my clients.
First - identify imbalances and use corrective exercise to align the muscuo-skeletal system and undo what a typically sedentary lifestyle will do. Dietary counselling and core strengthening are also paramount at this stage.
Second - increase strength, mobility and cardiovascular fitness with hard work and sweat.
Third - reap the benefits - more energy, better endurance, everyday life tasks are easier and of course a stronger and leaner physique. Whether you are 20 or 70 the philosophy is the same - it just needs to be adjusted to every individuals needs and goals.

Biography

The beginning of my exposure to this industry started in highschool amongst a weight room that hadn’t been updated in years. Growing up I played multiple sports including baseball and basketball but never found my foothold or felt confident in my abilities. Being more curious on what happens “behind the scenes” or in preparation for these sports sparked more of my interest. I began lifting at the age of 16 and soon decided this is the act that I will devote my time to and I never looked back. The vast amount of information and knowledge that can be gained about the human body and muscle physiology fuels me to constantly become better. While completing my undergraduate studies of Kinesiology I was also busy outside of the classroom with my own extracurricular studies of strength development and maximizing muscle hypertrophy for example. Becoming such a love of mine drove me to make a career of personal training and by age 18 I was certified and servicing clients at Columbia Lake Health Club. I take such pride in my own personal accomplishments because anyone in this industry knows how hard you have to fight and commit for each ounce of success. We all have the same amount of hours in the day; let me show you how you could be spending them! My want to help people accomplish their goals realize their own potential makes each experience with a client exciting. What do you want to do with the time given to you? What do you want to accomplish? These questions I utter anyone to ask themselves before committing to a life of fitness for as long as a goal is stated ahead of you, you will wake up each day eager to attain it. Success stands on a solid Foundation.
